Be patient for our strawberries

Linda Paeez Founder Vivièna

Spring is coming, and we are looking forward to it! Let’s go outside and enjoy the spring sunshine in the forest or on the beach. We can dig and feed the soil in the garden, cut back the bushes, place bedding plants and seed vegetables. But strawberries? No, they are not yet available in spring.

The season for strawberries from the open ground runs from May to August, which is why we call strawberries ‘kings of summer’. In summertime Dutch strawberries are the tastiest. At Vivièna we celebrate the seasons, and our offer varies with what comes off the land. Always organic, and locally if possible.

From local cultivation, plenty of apples and pears are available in spring, and the first vegetables such as spinach, radish and rhubarb become available. Some products are not grown in the Netherlands, but they are an important or tasty addition to a varied diet. Think for example of citrus fruits, banana, avocado, mango, coffee and chocolate. We buy these products on the basis of fair trade principles and as sustainable as possible, so that you can be confident that you always get the best choice at Vivièna.
